Tem Noon began as a presence on the radio at WRPI, 91.5 Troy NY. He then moved to the Boston Area and was seen on the New England Coffeehouse circuit in the 80's and early 90's with a folk band named "Rising Tide" and "The Dennis Pearne Band". I was also drumming whenever I could with the street kids in Harvard Square. He's had his music available on the Internet since December 1994.
Tem Noon plays everything except backing vocals on track 1 by Sita Dasi. Track 10 was recorded at the drum and dance event after the Full Moon Gathering in February at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.
Turtles All The Way Down (Pre-Release Single)(2007)
Qaec of Maec(2008)
This is the most ancient story from my fictional home galaxy. It tells how Qaec (which means "Boy Genius" in Maec) was raised to be a brilliant scientist, who discovered a whole new and more accurate way to understand the world. The universe is a play of sparks, in circles small and large, bubbles of energy expanding from events, As small as you may think, there are circles smaller. And as large as you can think, there will be circles far larger. There will be lengths of time unbelievable and unimaginable, very long, and very short, yet there is, from a certain perspective, no time at all. Before time can move forward, at many different levels, an infinity must be crossed, and it is done, in many ways, in powers of two. The universe breathes, and it is the emptying that makes the breath of life possible. This became the basis of a science that was then exploited by his father the King, who built a war machine that conquered the world, devestating the planet in the process. Qaec was kept isolated from what his father was doing. He found out too late to stop him, so he ran away to understand the world on his own. He had been raised in a lavish laboratory. He wanted to learn to see what other people are like. Learn what the outside world was really like. Qaec also went inward. He blamed himself for unlocking what nature had kept hidden and obscure, he sees now for a reason. He took himself apart, Found his deepest inner core, and found within it the emptiness which makes all things possible. The common emptiness, at the heart of the smallest components of matter, and also the engine of our consciousness. The science of his youth he now took as a guide to a deeper truth, a truth which is built into the insights which give power... an appreciation and compassion for all beings, because all beings have the same emptiness, and the emptiness which gives possibilities, within them. The emptiness is not just a noun, the absence of of anything else. It is also a force. It is an emptying. After years, he knew that through that emptiness which is at the center of anything that is real, we will be all things. We are already everything. We are already everyone. In a matter of "No Time", when we reach the no-time, we will be as much behind the eyes of everyone we meet, as we are now behind our own. We will be the clouds in the sky, and the planet we stand on. We will e the stars, and the galaxy as one. And Qaec began to teach. The King found a way to complete the most ambitious application of Qaec's boyhood discoveries. He was ready to launch into space at the speed of light, an invasion that can never be stopped or called back. Through an interstellar Flash, they could send armies in self-contained divisions to investigate, exploit, and report back to a central front-line command. The king had also built interstellar ships, for the local neighborhoods. The War had cost Maec dearly, they needed new planets to colonize. Qaec knows he must now take responsibility, doing what only he can do, teaching people to see past the world his father created, and help each person to see themselves in all things. The world he lived in was in turmoil, where the King's invading armies ravaged the world's economies which destroyed the cultures. He became the leader of an underground army of peace, with a mission to teach the power of the emptying, and the possibilities of the emptiness which we all share in equal measure. All songs recorded in the native language of that particular song's planet of origin. In my home galaxy, this same story has been told for many generations on thousands of planets. Humans are scattered throughout clearly from a single planet of origin. This story is the shared heritage of thousands of planets The last two tracks are instrumentals, celebrating Qaec's mission of teaching, gathering, and producing joy on a galactic scale. By tradition, Qaec never died, yet he is still living a normal life span. He travels as far and as fast as he can, almost always in a ship approaching the speed of time, or covering hundreds or thousands of planetary years frozen in a flash of light, going to another planet, to teach and inspire more people to action, before he takes off again. ---------- Production Notes Thanks and blessings to Sita Dasi for backup vocals on Boy Genius, and to Michelle Angel for use of her Tambura, and I can't forget extended loan of the Tabla!
